Puppy Kindergarten

Scott and I started puppy kindergarten last week. It is every tuesday night for five weeks and we get to train Izzy to be a good dog:) This week we finally got her to "sit". Our homework for next week is "Off" which is basically teaching Izzy to not jump up on the couch or jump on people if we dont want her to. I know this may sound silly to you but since Scott and I both work all day during the week when we get home we are so tired that we just want to have fun with her. So we are hoping she will be well behaved by the end. The class has been reminding me of the similarities between how the Lord "trains" us and how we are training Izzy. It has been good to see that at the times we are being "trained" by the Lord it is for our own good so we can not only be a pleasure to the Lord but to others around us.

The basic commands like "Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Up, and Off" that we have been trying to teach Izzy, as simplistic as they are, could one day save her life. I am so thankful to the Lord that he has these "basic commands" for us so that we will realize that they are "vital commands" when it comes to living the Christian life.

Below is a couple pics of Izzy diving into some ranch dip from Arby's new chicken poppers which are really good by the way! Its safe to say we were not happy about this but what can you do sometimes but just laugh:)

Her first trip to the Groomer...I thought the bow looked a little awkward but hey I didn't have to give her a bath and PetsMart is super cheap!

A Fun Weekend!

Rachel and Gaya Aponso (not Alponso:)) drove all the way from Wichita to see us this weekend. They were also wanting to see my parents which were out of town on an almost month camp run and Johnny and Kari who had moved:( So it was just us and we had a blast! It was so nice to be able to spend time with a couple that was in the same period of life as us(newlyweds). We started off friday night by taking them to this mexi-cuban restaurant downtown. Then on saturday we took them to the lake which is fun to do when people visit during the summer. Let me just say, Rachel had only been wakeboarding once in her life and by the end of the day she was up and wakeboarding like a champ! Gaya also gave it a try which was great. Just a couple funny stories.

On our way back in to the marina, we ran out of gas (just what you want to happen when there are guests:)). Thankfully we werent far from the gas station and so there was a pontoon behind us that ended up towing us there. Pictures in a sec. So we make it to the marina (by the way Gaya got to drive the boat back) and we had hooked up and were cleaning up the boat when three women walk past the boat. All the sudden they see Izzy and start wanting to talk about yorkies. Well the girl that was supposed to drive them home pulls out her keys and proceeds to drop them into the water. BIG problem...it is about 56 feet where we keep the boat. The farthest that scuba divers go is 30 feet. So here we are, its about 7:30 pm sat and these ladies are from west memphis. We think they prob had too much to drink out on the lake because they started spassing out and calling people right there at the boat. Thankfully, the one that dropped her keys in the water had a step dad that was a pilot and apparently he was going to fly a copy of her car keys to them from memphis!! We stopped at the Marketplace in Conway on the home for dinner and left Izzy in the car. Well we get back and I smell poop in the car and noone else does. All the sudden Rach stands up and she had sat on Izzy's poop!! I felt sooo bad:()

But the weekend was great and it was great to spend time with Rach and Gaya...pics below...
