Eleanor has found her favorite "spot"...in one of our bottom cabinets. So, instead of leaving the food in there for her to eat at her own leasure, we emptied it and wa-la, she has her own "spot" in the kitchen:) She likes to close herself in and wait for someone to open a door. Then she pops her head out and says "hey" or "hee" and smiles. hilarious. Right now, all that's in there is a sippy cup and a wooden spoon. I bet there will be more in there by the end of today:)
"Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. My soul will be satisfied. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me." Psalm 63:3,5a,8

besties and cabinets...
This past weekend I drove to Tulsa to see my besties...Grace, Ruth, and Rachel. I love my friends. I'm sad we are all so scattered now, but glad we can still take weekends to meet up and catch up. We ate mexican, had sno cones, went to a flea market, ate some more, got our toes done, and did some more shopping:) Such a fun weekend.

18 Months
My sweet baby girl is growing up. To be honest, when I look at her face now, I see a child not a baby. It makes me so sad sometimes. I used to wonder why mothers got so sad. Shouldn't it be a happy thing that your child is growing?? And yes, it is. But I understand now. What makes me sad. If her first year and half has gone by so quickly. Her next year and half will go by just as fast. And before you know it, she will be heading off to college...18 months will be 18 years. My mom always tells me "You only have them (your children) for a season in your life where you can have a direct influence on their decisions. God expects you to be be good stewards of them."
Here is what she is doing these days:
~Says Moma, Dada, Daddy, Shoes, Hi, Hey, Da(fan), Uh oh, Oh no,
Izzy, Dog, Nose, Ball, Hot, and more I just don't understand her
sometimes hah!!
~I'm pretty sure she understands just about everything I say. I
can ask her to find her sippy or her lovey and she will go and
find them for me.
~Her favorite things to do; Jump on the neighbors "Jumperine"...every night, swim like a big girl in the pool (with her floaties on of course), SING, play with Izzy.

"under the weather"
def.-"Somewhat ill or gloomy"
I would say we have definitely been "under the weather" over here. It has consisted of being ill mostly, but maybe a little gloomy too. Eleanor has only been "under the weather" ONE time in her little life: last December when she had a fever of 102 for a day or so. No ear infections, no flu, no nothing. This past Sunday, as we were driving home from a fabulous weekend with Scott's roommate from OleMiss and his wife, I started to feel a little nauseous. Then my stomach started hurting REALLY bad. I chalked it up to riding with E in the back and watching Barney with her. But when we stopped at McDonald's and I, hoping to just go potty and get my large $1 diet coke, ending up ralphing (ya'll know what I'm talking about here), I knew it wasn't car sickness. Thankfully, we were about an hour from home. When we got home, Scott was starting to feel sick. At this time, thankfully, Eleanor was doing just fine. I doze off only to wake up to Scott ralphing in the middle of the night. This is what he said when he got back in bed "I haven't ralphed like that in over a decade". Scott NEVER ralphs. I really don't either. SOOOO, yesterday we are both zombies laying on the couch when....Eleanor gets it. Oh.My.Goodness.
So back to Eleanor never being "under the weather". I can now say that she has been "under the weather" TWICE in her little lifetime. AND I can now say I feel extremely blessed to have such a healthy baby every other bit of the time!
