NYC

Last week I went to NYC on business. I was tentative about leaving the little one, but once I got there I realized that I really did need a short break. And Scott was sweet to watch her while I was gone. I got to stay in times square, eat some good foods, work of course, shop and go see mama mia! One of the nights I went to a work paid/sponsered outing to Comix comedy club. Guess who was performing that night? Judah friedlander from 30 Rock and Jim Gaffigan!! Scott and Eleanor met me at the airport when I got home. Eleanor got a huge grin on her face when she saw me. The sweetest thing!!!

Two.Months.

Things are looking up in the Schuchard household these days! First off, I am feeling much better. More like myself these days which makes me happy. Secondly, I think Ellie is starting to adjust to being in the outside world(our house mainly:)). She doesn't cry half as much as she used to and is starting to realize that when we put her down for naps and bedtime it's time to sleep. She doesn't sleep through the night just yet but I am starting to get a 5 to 6 hour stretch at the beginning of the night. And I will take it! She had her two month appointment last week and she is VERY healthy and growing...a little chubster to be honest(11 lbs. 9 oz). Scott and I can already see some rolls forming on her arms and legs. SO cute! I feel like we are really falling in love with this little girl. She makes us laugh...with her adult size toots...hah!! And that's not the only noise she makes. She has been cooing and squealing! And I think her smiles are the best thing in the world:) My favorite time with her is when she cuddles on me after I feed her. I just LOVE my little Ellie!!

She's here!!!

Eleanor Louise was born Jan. 10th at 6:47 am. She weighed 7lbs. 2 oz and was 20.5 in long!! I actually went into labor the Friday before around dinner time. So yes I was in labor from friday evening to sunday morning. And it was all back labor which Ive heard is the WORST...I certainly felt like it was:) We didn't actually end up going to the hospital until saturday afternoon...all I could think about by then was give me the EPIDURAL! after that got going I felt a TON better. I was 100% effaced when I arrived at the hospital but dilated only 2 cm. So they actually almost sent me home which I think I would have DIED if they had I was in so much pain. From then on I progressed about a cm per hour...until I got to 9 and then it was like I shut down. After a couple more hours of waiting, I was finally given pitocin. That did the trick and I ended up only pushing for about 30 mins before little Ellie was born:) So thats the story for those who were asking...trying not to give too much info:)...

Scott and I are already so in love with our little girl. I won't lie, it has been a little rough especially since recovery was pretty severe. But with 2 weeks behind me, as my mom would say I am starting to "get my wings" back. Also, it has been a very big adjustment being a mommy. I have had a job for over 6 years and I know how to do that. I had it down pretty good. But this...I feel like I am so inexperienced that sometimes it overwhelms me. I just try not to worry too much about what I'm doing wrong or right and just enjoy her. She is so much fun!:)

2 Weeks already!!

36 weeks(aka 9 MONTHS)!!!

I can NOT believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by. This past month, I have had some really fun showers, worked on the nursery, and had a great Thanksgiving with my whole family. One more month to go! It could drag on but I just don't think it will with it being the holiday season and all. I couldn't think of a more perfect time of year to spend my last four weeks of pregnancy! I officially have 12 work days left. Yes. Just 12. And I have definitely been coasting at work. hah! I get out of bed around the time Scott leaves for work and I arrive at work oh somewhere around the 9ish hour? I have started my weekly OB appt's and from what my dr. says "we are batting a thousand with this pregnancy". Scott and I are so thankful to the Lord that we have had no complications so far. Besides some swollen feet, no major aches or pains. And yes, still sleeping straight through the night. I don't even have to get up to go the bathroom until the morning!

I do although find myself thinking a lot lately about what is ahead. I know all you ladies out there know what I mean when I say-I'm. Scared. Please don't get me wrong. I can't wait to meet little Ellie and hold her in my arms. But I know there is so much more to having a baby than that!

-What will it be like to "birth" a baby? YIKES.
-Will I have the emotional stamina for the sleepless (I LOVE my sleep) nights...and there will be plenty of them...
-Will Scott and I's relationship ever be the same? (it's really good right now. just the two of us.)
-What about Izzy? (I know it's silly, but she is my baby and gets a GOOD amount of my attention)
-Will I be a good GODLY mother?

But one thing I'm sure of, I know I have the Lord by my side no matter what changes occur.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand." Isaiah 41:10
